Volunteer for Older Americans
There are also many ways that volunteers may contribute to the Older American Program. The Older American Program needs mature, reliable volunteers to assist with the following services for seniors living in Allegan County :

 

·         Transportation:

Assist seniors with rides to and from Doctor appointments, legal appointment, and nutritional needs. Mileage reimbursement is available. You may make your own schedule, and the community you wish to work in.  Driver License, private car and car insurance necessary. 

 

·         Meal Site Volunteer Server:

Assist hostess serving meals to seniors at various meal site locations throughout the county.

 

·          Deliver Meals to Seniors:

Transport meals to seniors in their homes. Mileage reimbursement is available. Service delivery area is all of Allegan County . Driver License, private car and car insurance necessary.

 

·         Homemaker

Help seniors with light housekeeping chores on a weekly or monthly basis.

 

All Volunteers must meet all safety clearance requirements (criminal background clearances).
