The Allegan Ministerium Central Food Pantry’s 3rd annual bike-a-thon is taking place on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Allegan Sport’s Complex off 114th Avenue
(Hooker Road), Allegan, Michigan. This event raises money for food assistance available to Allegan County residents.
While there is no registration fee or minimum pledge total, it is hoped that each rider will use the pledge sheet on the flip side of this notice to collect
donations for the food pantry, due at registration the day of the ride, June 2. Everyone turning in pledges of $25 or more will receive a water bottle. The
three riders with the most pledges will receive prizes.
The event will again feature three separate rides to accommodate all ages and skill levels of each participant. Please note the staggered start time, new to the
event this year:
- 8:00 AM – 30 mile course with moderate climbs to test more ambitious riders
- 9:00 AM – 10 mile course, mostly flat for intermediate riders
- 9:00 AM – 1 mile closed loop (around the sports complex) for young riders, or those young at heart whom may not have ridden in a few years
Registration begins at the sports complex one hour prior to the scheduled start of each ride.
Participants under the age of 18 must have parent’s consent. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
Additional pledge sheets will be available at many area churches, area bike shops, downtown businesses and online Download Pledge Sheets Here.
They will also be available at the office of Allegan County Resource Development Committee, Inc., located at 323 Water Street, Allegan.
